Baltimore, MD Surprise Elopement
Lancaster, PA Backyard BBQ
Athena contacted me asking for something simple but unique. It HAD to be carrot cake (her favorite!) and we had to somehow get it to MD unsuspiciously for a surprise elopement (which was to take place during their engagement party). The couple was planning a larger elopement that year to Mexica (woo!). Luckily, their awesome photographer Madeline Isabella picked up the cake and drove it to Baltimore for them!
After planning a big traditional wedding, Kayla and Ethan decided to scrap it and go for a route that represented them a little more. They were married on Kayla's parents' beautiful property with a unique black and grey cake, and a few months later had a massive backyard BBQ with delicious cupcakes, donuts, and desserts!
Blayre made me the cake of my DREAMS! My husband and I decided literally a week before our shower to surprise everyone and elope at the shower. I had been following Blayre’s Instagram for a while ever since I saw one of her cakes posted for a stylized wedding shoot. She is the most talented baker I’ve ever seen and there’s not a single cake I’ve seen her post that makes me feel “whatever” about it. I messaged her right away and she was surprisingly free for our wedding/shower date! I told her my vision, our wedding colors and wedding theme and she made it come to life in a way I could have never imagined.
Now it’s one thing to create something beautiful, but it’s another thing to also make it taste amazing! We don’t live close enough to PA so we didn’t get a chance to taste test any flavors, so we just went with Carrot Cake because it’s my absolute favorite flavor. She blew everyone away! If I could have her make me that cake everyday, I would live off of that diet. She added a caramel drip to our cake and that combined with the carrot cake was the absolute best combination, I wonder why I’ve never tried that! She’s the first person I think to ever recommend when someone tells me they’re getting married, and that is not an exaggeration. Now if only she lived closer to me!
Blayre was so sweet and accommodating in the wedding planning process. I initially contacted her about a big wedding with all the fixings, but then changed plans about 3 times. We ended on a small intimate wedding with a BBQ reception on another day. Blayre was happy to make that happen for us by making desserts for each event. She made a delicious, small cake for our wedding day. I still am fantasizing about her raspberry buttercream filling. She used my inspiration to create a beautiful watercolor design on the cake with silver flakes. For our BBQ reception, she made cupcakes and baked donuts. Her apple pie donuts were a huge hit! Everything looked beautiful and tasted just as good. We would highly recommend her to all couples and for other events. She is helpful, kind and super responsive. It felt like working with a close friend instead of a business owner! She is willing to go out of her way for her couples and clients.
